It is with deep sadness that the family of Susan Marie Higginbotham Broussard, age 67, of Lake Arthur, Louisiana, are announcing her passing on July 10, 2025 at Lafayette General Hospital.    Mrs. Susan was born on June 16, 1958, in Houma, Louisiana to the late Floyd and Imelda Rogers Higginbotham.
Mrs. Susan attended Mermentau Elementary School and Midland High School until the 9th grade. She was a homemaker and a loving, caring, good hearted person who never met a stranger that she couldn't be friends with. She adored the color purple. She also enjoyed playing bingo and playing slots at the Casino.

Left to cherish her memories are, her husband of 28 years, Bryan Broussard of Lake Arthur, her first husband and father to their children, Michael (Donna) Romero of Mermentau, two brothers-in-law, Ray Lopez of Jennings, Rickey (Angie) Broussard of Jennings, two sisters-in-law, Shirley Horton of Beaumont, Texas, Jackie (Roger) Johnson of Kinder.
Her six children, Chasity (Patrick) Breaux of Mermentau, Bonnie (Allen) Guidry of Jennings, Amanda (Byron) Benoit of Jennings, Starlee (Matt) Reed of Jennings, Sandee (Chris) Leblue of Lake Arthur, and her only son, whom she cherished, Christopher (Rachel) Romero of Jennings.
Two stepdaughters, Olivia Covert of West Middlesex, Pennsylvania, and Lyndsey Broussard of Lake Arthur.
16 grandchildren, Elena (Kayde) Morvant, Ethan (Tara) Morvant, Tyler (Felicity) Breaux, Sarah Benoit, Mylee and Mya Guidry, Kaylee Reed, Mason Benoit, Jayden and Bryson Leblue, Kloiee Reed, Aleah Romero, Landen Guidry, Austin Benoit, Kynslee and Jasper Reed.

Step grandchildren, Gwendolyn (Alex) Newman, Lil J, Trent, Corey, Bentley Legros, Brayden and Mia Covert, Braylon Broussard, and Tavaris Williams.

Best friends, Theresa Credeur, Becky Keiser, Phyllis Garcia, and Tamika Thibodeaux, and numerous friends that she has met over the years.

Mrs. Susan is preceded in death by her grandparents, Ferdinand and Lucina  Rogers, her parents, Floyd Higginbotham and Imelda Derise, her beloved sisters, Ann Lopez and Debby Ann Lejeune, father and mother-in-law, Curtis and Clara Broussard, ex-in-laws, Ernest and Alberta Romero, step fathers, Milford Lejeune, Evenise Vezina, Charles Derise, two uncles, Earl (Nerisha) Rogers and Ferdinand (Pearl) Rogers, brother-in-law, Wayne Broussard, niece, Jana Prudhomme, nephew, Rodrick Broussard, countless friends, and furry babies.
