Obiturary

Saundra Denise Asberry-Pete, 70, of Jennings, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on December 3, 2024. Born on August 26, 1954, in Jennings, Saundra was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Davis.

From her early days, Saundra's life was steeped in faith. Christened as a Catholic in her infancy, she carried her faith with her throughout her life.

Saundra was a devoted homemaker and worked as a housekeeper, but her true passion lay in her family. She found joy in the simplest of pleasures—spending time with her loved ones, dancing, shopping thrift stores and garage sales, playing bingo and taking trips to the casino.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Mary Davis; her siblings, Robert Arceneaux and Julie Ann Pete; and her beloved son, Tony Pete.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving siblings: Lawrence Arceneaux (Cynthia), Darren Davis, Phillip Davis, and Shannon Davis, all of Jennings, LA. Saundra's legacy lives on in her children: Charles Woods Jr., Thomas Asberry (La'Tonya), Dustin Pete (Diondra), all of Jennings, LA; Bryan Woods, Sr. of Houston, TX; Chad Woods, Sr. (Raquel) and Brad Woods, Sr. (Tredesa) of Leesville, LA; and her daughter Kimberly Woods of Jennings, LA.

Saundra was blessed with a large and loving family, including 38 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, each of whom she loved dearly.

Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and the joy found in family and togetherness. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
