Nettie Belle
Duncan Carrington
Dec 22, 1954 — Jun 30, 2025
In Loving Memory of Nettie Belle Duncan Carrington
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Nettie Belle Duncan Carrington.
Nettie was a light in the lives of all who knew her—a woman defined by her compassion, generosity, and unwavering love for family and friends. Whether offering a warm meal, a listening ear, or a place to rest, Nettie gave freely and wholeheartedly. She was an extraordinary cook, a devoted sister, aunt, mother, and wife.
Professionally, Nettie served as a caregiver and personal tax preparer, earning the trust and loyalty of countless returning clients over the years. She worked for more than 30 years at Jennings Guest House, dedicating herself to the care and comfort of others with tireless devotion.
Born in Jennings, Louisiana, to the late Henry Duncan and Ella Mae Cormier, Nettie was known from a young age as a gentle, kind soul. The third of five sisters, she was deeply rooted in family, her radiant smile often lifting the spirits of those around her.
Nettie's greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. She was a loving and supportive mother to Joe Carrington, Jr. and Alexis Carrington, and took immense pride in their accomplishments.
A woman of deep faith, Nettie loved the Lord and found comfort in scripture. She mourned her loved ones with the firm belief that they would be reunited again.
Nettie leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and selflessness—a reminder, in a fast-paced world, that goodness and grace still exist. She touched many lives and left each one better than she found it.
She is survived by her children, Joe Carrington, Jr., Alexis Carrington, sisters Grady Duncan, Linda Hicks, and Susan Cormier, grandchildren, Jamari Lavallier, Christian Carrington, Aaron Parker, Kyrani and Kyron Carrington, Jimenah Carrington, Zyir Jones, Jabari Tunstall, Olivia Bryant and My'Syas Kaine and a host of cherished nieces, and nephews. Lifelong friends Linda Castille, Rita Broussard, Catherine Perkins, Mary Madden amongst many others who loved her.
