Leanna Pete Dartez was born February 18, 1934 to Lee and Charlotte Pete. She was the seventh of twelve siblings. She entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 15, 2024.

Leanna, Big Lee, as she was affectionately known, was a loving and praying mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and much more to many others whose lives she impacted.

She was united in holy matrimony to John W. Dartez and to this union seven children were born.

Leanna was known as the Mother of Life and Hope Ministries, under the leadership of Pastor Betty Etienne.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her four sons John W. Dartez II, Alton Dartez, Sr., Rayford Dartez, Sr. and Anthony Dartez, three daughters-in-law Edolia Dartez, Vicki Dartez, and Diana Dartez; four brothers, Leo, Leroy, Jimmy and Horace Pete, four sisters, Leola Newman, Viola Lewis, Martha Rae Seymour, and Maggie Riggs. She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Tammy Guillory and Carlos Daniels, Sr. and one great grandson Demetrius Daniels.

Those left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Savannah (Sue) Robinson and Renella Daniels and her son Curtis Dartez, daughters-in-law, Darcel Dartez and Barbara Brown, sisters Barbara Sinegal and Doris Blaine and brother Lee Pitre. Also left to share in her memories are a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
