Marie Wilma Leger-Minix was born July 15, 1934, to the late Ozzemae and Emma Leger in Church Point, LA. On October 26th the angel of death entered her home and took her to her final resting place. Marie at a tender age gave her life to Christ at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She later united in Holy Matrimony to the late Joseph Minix Jr. to this union six children were born."Ma" or "Madea" as many knew her was truly one of a kind. She was a stranger to no one and a grandmother to many. She was a firecracker with a caring heart and the neighborhood kids loved her. She will be truly missed.She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters; Rose (Paul Jr) Allen, Josephine Minix, Gloria (Anthony)Manuel; one son Ronald (Felecia) Minix. Twelve grandchildren, Danielle(Ricky)Minix-Sam, Paul J. Allen, Latasha (Jacoby) Batiste, Ashley (Charles)Allen, Brittany (Chris) Minix, Frantagia(Patrick)Glover, Sabrina(Jamie)Belaire, Cody LaSage, Aaron LaSage, Makayla (Johnny)Manuel, Kyra Manuel, & Indya (Montrail)Manuel; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; one sister in law Helnora Minix; three God children Elroy Minix, Barbara Johnson, & Betty Narcisse; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.She is preceded in death by her Parents, her husband, one daughter Barbara Minix, one son Robert Minix, two brothers and Louis Leger, two sisters Lillian Collins and Thelma Preacher; five sister -in-laws, and seven brother- in- laws.
