Laura Mae Andrews (Mitchell) was born to Matthew Mitchell and Elizabeth Boudreaux on October 14, 1947, in Lafeyette, Louisiana. She was the second child of five children (Curtis, Charles, Manual, Joseph) Laura Mae accepted Christ at an early age through Antioch Baptist Church, Lake Arthur, La.; at the young age of 77 she graciously surrendered her precious spirit to her heavenly Father.
She graduated from Jeff Davis High School and went on to study nursing at McNeese State. She spent many years taking care of those who were unable to care for themselves along with her sister-friend (Deana). Laura didn't just take care of them, but she loved them like family. She had an infectious, beautiful smile that would light up any room and no one was a stranger. Laura Mae walked through this journey of life with a warm heart, integrity, kindness, patience, courage and arms full of love. She adored her grandchildren (Eunique, Jade, Lewis, Javon) and loved spending time with her fur babies (Princess, Lucy, Wiggley, Salem, Winston, Lola) and the infamous "Buddy"
During her earlier years, Laura was introduced to John Edward Andrews in San Diego, California. Love bloomed and in 1973 they were married in New Orleans, La. Through their union, God blessed them to nurture and raise 1 beautiful daughter (Velma aka Kudin') and 2 handsome sons (John aka Bue-Dee & Matthew aka Bae-Bae).
Later in life she met and married Mr. Amos Mitchell.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Amos. Her children / grandchildren Matthew, Courtney (wife), John, Dawn (wife), grandchildren - Eunique, Jade, Lewis, Javon, Brothers-Curtis & Joyce Mitchell Senior (brother/sister in-law), Joe Mitchell (brother), 1 niece, a host of nephews, great-nieces, great- nephews, and latest Mitchell family additions great, great niece and nephews. A host of close family members and friends.
Laura was preceded in death by Matthew, Leona, Elizabeth, Velma, Charles, Manuel, Mary Sue Mitchell, John Andrews.
