On Wednesday April 16th, 2025, Kenneth Wayne "Mutt" Lyons departed this physical life
peacefully.
Kenneth was the eldest son born to Betty Jean Jackson Lyons Lockett and Curtis Lyons Jr.
on May 14, 1955. He was blessed with a large family where he was raised in Welsh, La.
Having a deep love for God and his Word he accepted Christ at a young age and was
baptized at Jones United Methodist Church. He attended Mary McCleod Bethune High
School and later attended Welsh High School. As a young adult, he spent time on the road
in the trucking industry and later as a laborer in construction of Louisiana and Texas
highways. He was mostly known for his passion for automobiles which he later retired from
doing mechanical work. "If it wasn't working, Mutt could get it rolling/running again."
Kenneth's enjoyable pastime was listening and dancing to "The Oldies but Goodies", and
often, more times than not, being "The Life of the Party". He leaves his cherished
memories to six beautiful daughters Kendra Moore, Crystal Moore of Lake Charles, LA,
Tierra Moore of Houston, TX, Chelsie Moore of Lake Jackson, TX, Dana Moore of Welsh, LA,
Betty Moore of Jennings, LA, two handsome sons Demon Lyons of Lake Charles, LA and
Kerry Achane (Ampha) of Eureka, CA. The beloved mother of his seven children Dianne
Moore and a longtime compassionate companion, Lillian Jones.
One aunt, Brenda Denkins of Houston, TX one uncle, Rudolph Jackson and fourteen
siblings, Curtis, Nathaniel, Cynthia, Debra Williams, Marion Berry, Carey, Lionel, Harold,
Ronnie, Yolanda (Bradley) Lemonia, Steven, Dion Polk, Philip (Deon) Jackson Sr., and
Harold (Vandell) Locket. 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces,
nephews, friends, and family.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents Curtis Lyons Sr, Betty Jean Jackson Lyons
Lockett, two dear sons Don and Damon "D'Right" Gray, and one loving brother Chad
Jackson Sr., one precious granddaughter DaLaiyah Monaé Zeno.
