Obituary

Jovita Pattum Taylor departed her earthly life on Sunday December 8, 2024
at Ochsner's Lafayette General Medical Center. Jovita was the 2 nd child
born unto Joseph and Gussie Pattum on June 24, 1936 in Jennings, La.
Jovita was a graduate of Jefferson Davis High School. After graduating
high school Jovita was married and unto that union 6 kids were born.
Jovita later became a certified ward-clerk and continued this for several
years until she began to do private housekeeping with her mother for
several local doctors and famlies. Until her retirement she was employed
by Drs Jackie and Lester Acnelet. She was a life long faithful member of
Our Lady of Perceptual Help Catholic Church where she would volunteer
for various activities around the church. Known to everyone around town as Ms.Joe , Jovita was always willing to
help and be of assistance to anyone in need. To her family she was known
as Mom, Mother, Maw-Maw, Great Maw-Maw or Nanny Joe. She believed in
being a hard worker and the importance of family. In her free time she
enjoyed having a ice cold coke and ice cream. She also enjoyed playing
Pochino, going to bingo and weekly bowling leauge.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Joseph and Gussie Pattum,
brother Joseph Pattum Jr, Two very close friends Grace McZeal and
Lorraine Richard and a host of aunts and uncles. Left to cherish her memories are her six children Pernell Q. Taylor, Stanley
Taylor both of Jennings, La, Regionald Taylor of Lafayette, La, Gewndolyn
A. Taylor-Anthony af Manassas, Vg, Lydia Taylor and Althea M. Taylor both
of Jennings, La. One sister Mary E. Grice of Portlant, Or. Six grandchildren,
eight great-grandchildren along with a host of neices, nephews, family
members and friends.
