James Daffy Haley (JD/Souldog) was born February 11, 1936, in Galveston, Texas to
Henry (Wiggy) Haley and Rosa Lee Haley. JD grew up in Roanoke, Louisiana with his
siblings Donald Dean Haley, Lucille Marie Armstead and Irma Sue Haley. He grew up
close with family and friends in Roanoke, Louisiana.
JD enlisted in the army on November 11, 1958 were he was station in several different
places such as: Arkansas (1st Base Station), Vietnam (Twice), Fort Monmouth New
Jersey, Fort Hood Texas, Tobyhanna army Depot in PA, White-sands New Mexico a
Missel Range, Alaska (where he played basketball), DMZ Korea (war zone), and Fort
Polk Louisiana where he retired on November 11, 1978. JD went to trade school and
received a certificate in small energy where he used this certificate to work on lawn
mows, and he started her lawn services. He was always a pillar in the community, and
it was no one he didn't help.
JD met the love of his life Ruby, and they married in August of 1976. They were
married 26 years before Ruby passed away.
He leaves in God's loving care his three daughters, Latonya Haley (Rodaro Baham)
of Houston, Texas, Kenyatte Levi (Tyrone Levi) of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Toni
Carter (Marvin Miller) of Baltimore, Maryland, Two Son James DeJhon' Haley Sr. (Tatianna Hollins) of Houston, TX and Joe Haley of Seattle, Washington, several
grandchildren LaKeisha Haley-Davis (William Davis) of Baltimore, LaQuel Berry (AKA T- Black), and Ty'Tiar Price (AKA-T-Baby) of Houston Texas to name a few. He had 24
grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, and host of nieces,
nephews, God Children and friends.
JD was preceded in Death By his loving wife Ruby, his siblings Donald Dean, Irma
Sue, Lucielle, his son Larry, his daughter Donna and his parents Henry (Wiggy) and Rosa.
