Obituary
Hampton Fontenot, Jr. was born April 1, 1952, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to the late
Hampton Fontenot, Sr. and Cecelia Vital.
Hampton was known to his family and friends as "Boog." He was baptized at Mt. Calvary
Baptist Church in Lake Charles when he was 8 yrs old. He attended Washington High
School in Lake Charles, LA. He lived in Jennings for 35 plus years. He worked as a
construction worker and also was a CDL driver. He loved to hunt, fish, and cook. He also
loved riding his motorcycle, but most of all he loved spending time with the grandkids.
Hampton entered into eternal rest on Saturday morning, January 31, 2026, at his home.
Hampton leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Druscilla Fontenot of Roanoke, LA; two
sons, Hampton Sonnier, Sr and Marlon White of Jennings, LA.; three daughters, Tiffany
(Shawn) Fontenot of Opelousas, LA; Antoinette Charleston of Port Arthur, TX; Danyelle
White of Lake Arthur, LA; one bonus son, Marty Wilridge of Jennings, LA; two bonus
daughters, Darica Baptiste of Baton Rouge and Angel Simon of Roanoke, LA; two sisters,
Lucinda Adair of Oklahoma City, OK and Stephanie Jacobs of Lake Charles, LA; two
godchildren, Gregory Fontenot and Tammy Davis; and a host of grandkids,
great-grandkids, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Hampton was preceded in death by his parents, Hampton and Cecelia Fontenot; sister,
Linda Fontenot; brother, Reverend Herman Fontenot; and brother-in-law, Julian Adair.
