With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Erma Jean Walker, a vibrant soul who lit up every room she entered. Known for her infectious laughter, boundless energy, and a spirit that radiated joy, Erma was truly the life of the party. She had an uncanny ability to bring people together, making every gathering a celebration. Whether it was a simple get-together or a grand event, Erma knew how to make everyone feel included and cherished. Her love for life was evident in everything she did, from her passion for cooking, music, and dancing to her endless stories that kept everyone entertained for hours. She will be remembered by her famous quote, "The Lord gives me strength".On September 1st 2024, Erma rejoined her husband, son, siblings, and parents as she transitioned to her eternal reward.Erma Jean Walker affectionately known as "MEAN JEAN" was born March 13, 1957, the eighth of ten kids born to Timothy and Laura Lewis.Erma attend Welsh High School. She went on to become a chef, later in life she became a caregiver, which was her true calling.She leaves a legacy of love and faith to her beloved son Johnny"Zook" Walker, of Welsh, La. Her beloved siblings, Wanda Wison, and Larry (Ana) Washington, all of Welsh, La. Mona Lisa (Donald) Thibodeaux of Jennings, La, and Carl (Carlos) Lewis of Houston, Tx. Eight beautiful and devoted grandkids, and two great grandkids. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her special friend Cliffton Haley.She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Broussard, her son, Codia Walker, her parents, Timothy and Laura Lewis, and siblings, Nelson Washington, Timothy Lewis, Anothy Lewis, Riney Lewis, Larry Thomisee, and Debroah Corbin.
