Cheyrl Ann Landry, age 68, transitioned to glory on February 4, 2025, during the early morning hours at St. Patrick's Hospital in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She was born on September 29, 1956, to the late Audry and Annie Lee Davis. Cheyrl was baptized at an early age at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Elton, Louisiana. Throughout her life, she was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Cheyrl was an extremely committed church member of Good Hope Baptist church in Westlake, LA, and her church family was a significant part of her life. She cherished the fellowship and support of her church family, who were always there to uplift her and provide love and assistance whenever needed. Her dedication to her faith and her community was unwavering, and she deeply appreciated the care and encouragement her church family gave her throughout her life.
Cheyrl spent many years as a dedicated member of her community in Jennings, Louisiana, where she worked in the food service industry at various locations. She later moved to Westlake, Louisiana, and continued her career at Market Basket, retiring after many years of hard work. She was deeply passionate about spending quality time with her great-grandchildren, whom she adored, and she cherished the moments spent with her family.
In her free time, Cheyrl enjoyed watching The Young and the Restless and Hallmark movies, which brought her great joy. Above all, she was known for her kind heart and loving spirit, always caring for those around her. Cheyrl's warmth and generosity left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Audry Davis; mother, Annie Lee Davis; brother, Edward Davis; and former husband, Theodore Landry Sr.
Cherishing her memory are her daughter, Dana D. Lewis (Elisha); son, Theodore A. Landry (Jerica); five grandchildren, Kayla Martin (Mitchell), AA'Laysha Gibson (Isaac), Elijah Lewis (Patrice), Adrienne Francis (Cedric), and Karen Landry; seven great-grandchildren, Joseph Lavan, Joshua Lavan, Denver Gibson, Luna Francis, Liam Gibson, Honey Francis, and Landon Gibson; and five Godchildren, Gregory "Ace" Davis, Jacquette "JJ" Fleetwood, Ronnie Woods, Kurt Sinegal, and Christy Mitchell.
She is also survived by two sisters, Jonette "Peaches" Wise (Glenn) of Maryland and Lorraine "Mottie" Fleetwood (Bernard) of Hinesville, GA; three brothers, Gregory Davis (Bernita) and Harold Davis(charlotte) of Elton, LA, and John Davis (Nicole) of Lafayette, LA; and three sisters-in-law, Jossiettia (Daniel) Thomas and Erica "Net" Arthur of Indianapolis, and Yolanda Beverly (Cleve) of Lafayette la three brothers-in-law, George Mczeal of Indianapolis Eric Mczeal of Jennings, LA, and Mike Mczeal of New Orleans, LA. Cheyrl's memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
