Obituary

Lake Charles — Brenda Kaye Hill, was a long-time resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana, she returned to her heavenly
home on Wednesday the 4th of June while at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Born in 1958 in Cameron Parish to James and Eula
MCarthur. She received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from McNeese state University. Mrs. Brenda Kaye Hill was a
former educator and founder of the Voice of Southwest Louisiana LLC. She was awarded the 2017 Unsung Hero for
the 33rd Annual MLK Festival. She was also inducted into the Black Heritage Festival Hall of Fame for her amazing
work as the founder and editor of The Voice of Southwest Louisiana magazine. She was preceded in death by her parents, James D.
McArthur and Eula M. McArthur; fraternal grandfather, Thomas McArthur; fraternal grandmother, Rosie McArthur
Brown; maternal grandfather, Noah Bartie (Bessie); maternal grandmother, Bessie Bartie Rankins (Ozemae); Three
brothers: Nathaniel Waltz, Kevin Ware and Todd McArthur. She leaves to cherish her memories: Levert Blount III (son),
Joshua R. Hill (son), Mary M. Hill (daughter) and Esterine Bernard-Julun (daughter). Her grandchildren: Caleb Ledet, Eden Ledet, Anais Ledet, Levi Ledet, Amir Hill, Adonis Hill,Amais Hill, Douglas Julun and Kaylee Bernard. Her siblings, Tommy Cole (Pat) of Lake Charles, LA,w James
McArthur (Lucy) of San Antonio, TX, Leisha A. Collins (Glenn) of Lake Charles, LA, Kevin McArthur of Dallas, TX, Tammy Davis of Lancaster, CA, Deadra Jackson (JT) of DeRidder, LA, Noah McArthur of Dyrallas, TX, Joann McArthur of Lake Charles, LA, Brad McArthur (Laura) of Dallas, TX, Katrina McArthur and Rose Ware both of Lake Charles, LA and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives, nieces,nephews, cousins and friends.
